Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi, on Friday, visited Ankpa LGA for an on-the-spot assessment of the accident caused by a petrol tanker on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued by the media office of the governor, Bello was represented by his chief of staff, Abdulkareem Mohammad Jamiu alongside a high-powered delegation.
He expressed sadness over the loss of lives and destruction of property.
Abagwu Ibrahim, chairman of Ankpa LGA, confirmed that 29 persons were killed in the accident while two other persons were currently receiving treatment.
