Kwara and Kogi States’ governors AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Ahmed Ododo have sought President Bola Tinubu’s intervention in the dualization of the deteriorating Ilorin-Lokoja Road. The governors said the President’s intervention was crucial for the dualization of the road, which extends to Makurdi and Gboko in neighbouring Benue State, as well as the Republic of Benin. They said President Tinubu’s help to upgrade the road would also boost the economy and help in the development of Nigeria’s solid mineral and agricultural sectors. The governors spoke when they visited Works Minister Dave Umahi in Abuja. AbdulRazaq, who is also the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum (NGF), hailed President Tinubu for his administration’s interventions on several roads across the country. The Kwara governor hoped that the Federal Government would provide the funds to make the dualization of the Ilorin-Lokoja road a reality. Umahi assured the governors that the Federal Government, under the Renewed Hope administration of President Tinubu was committed to addressing the accumulated road infrastructural needs of the country. The minister said doing so would contribute progressively to the reinvigoration of the national and sub-national economies.
