Former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has sued the House of Assembly for tarnishing his image through its report indicting him of allegedly siphoning N432 billion when he was governor.
El-Rufai, in the suit at the Federal High Court, Kaduna seeks N1 billion damages for the Assembly’s failure to give him a fair hearing before smearing his image.
The suit, filed by his lawyer Abdulhakeem Mustapha, also challenged the report which indicted him for alleged corruption. According to him, the Assembly targeted him in its investigations, invited about 70 people who served under his government, but deliberately refused to give him a fair hearing.
