Osun state Governor-elect, Senator Ademola Adeleke has called on Nigerian youth to vote enmasse for all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2023 general election as the party has the best youth development agenda.
Speaking while receiving the report of his Youth Advisory Council on Wednesday, the Governor-elect said the PDP plans for Nigerian youth covers all areas of youth needs and aspirations from employment, youth leadership, youth inclusion in governance, education, health and sports development, calling on Nigerian youth to support all candidates of the PDP in the 2023 general elections.
” Osun youth supported my governorship ambition as my youth development agenda directly addresses the pressing challenges facing the youths which include unemployment, underemployment, drug abuse, thuggery and cultism, internet fraud, prostitution amongst others. My plan is a product of the PDP manifesto.
” I call Osun youth and Nigerians at large to cast their votes for PDP from top to bottom to ensure an inclusive government, not only in Osun but across the federation. We need a government that will ensure direct attention to the various sectors of the economy and the society so that our youth can enjoy balanced growth and development into adulthood”, Senator Adeleke posited.
Speaking on youth agenda for Osun state , the Governor-elect restated that his administration will ensure high youth representation across the Ministries and agencies, noting that “Our youth agenda will create enabling environment for our youth to grow and develop.
“The current Osun state youth policy will be updated to include the many recommendations you have made. An implementation plan will also be included. My administration will ensure new youth development centres through public private partnership. As your Governor , I will be youth friendly and gender sensitive”, he assured the Youth Advisory Council.
Addressing the Governor-elect earlier, the Chairman of the Youth Council, Mr Adekunle Ademola-Sadipe said that, the main components of the report centered on youth empowerment, development and youth inclusion, noting that recommendations were also made on keys areas like the Education, Health, Arts and Tourism, Security, Sports, Trade, Commerce and industries, amongst others.
Aside sectoral recommendation the Youth Advisory committee also gave a robust 100 days in office fiscal plan for the incoming administration with wideranging workable solutions on educational policies, rural and infrastructural development, and empowerment programmes.
