Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, has sent a message of love and peace to Christian faithful on the occasion of this year’s Christmas, a celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Agba said that Nigerians of all walks of life should observe the Christmas in an atmosphere of harmony and by embracing peaceful co-existence with one another, which the seasonal celebration exemplifies.
According to him: “We owe one another a duty of care to ensure that we live in harmony even as we all show perseverance in the face of our day-to-day activities and the pressure that comes with them.
“We must be our brothers’ keeper and help in various little ways that we can to support one another and lift the spirits of the vulnerable in the society. It is by so doing that we would be fulfilling Jesus Christ’s injunction about loving our neighbours like ourselves.”
Agba assured Nigerians that the Federal Government would continue to initiate and pursue programmes and policies that would empower them and lift Nigerians out of poverty in line with the desire by President Muhammadu Buhari to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in ten years.
He therefore urged them and religious leaders to raise Nigeria before God in prayers as they celebrate the Christmas for successful general elections and transition to a new government that would be inaugurated on May 29, 2023 based on the result of the elections.
