Adebayo Eyimofe, an indigene of Ekiti, has emerged as the student with the highest mark in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) broke the news during its 2022 policy meeting in Abuja on Thursday.
According to Ishaq Oloyede, JAMB registrar, Eyimofe, who wrote his examination in Abuja, scored 362.
The registrar said Ugwu Chikelu, an indigene of Enugu state, who also wrote his UTME in Abuja, came second with 359.
Oloyede said other candidates with very high scores in this year’s exam include Igbalaye Ebunoluwa (357); Emmanuel Oluwanifemi (357); Ozumba Samuel (357); Olumide-Attah Ayomide 355; Lawal Olaoluwa (355); Dokun Jubril 354; Amaku Anthony (354) and Aghulor Divine (353).
The development comes as the board revealed that only 378,639 of the 1,761,338 who sat for this year’s edition of the exam scored 200 and above.
Giving a breakdown of the figures, Oloyede said while 378,639 scored above 200, those who had 190 and above stood at 520,596.
