According to recent reports, the National Judicial Council (NJC) has warned against a plan by a group of fraudsters to swindle retired judicial officers across the country. The council said fraudsters had been calling its retired judicial officers on phones promising to fast-track payment of their retirement benefits for a fee. NJC in a statement in Abuja yesterday by its director of information, Barrister Soji Oye, dissociated the council from the actions of the alleged fraudsters and pleaded with retired judicial officers not to fall victim to the unscrupulous people.
