Festus Keyamo, chief spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign council, has taken a jab at Yakubu Dogara, former speaker of the house of representatives, for endorsing Atiku Abubakar.
Atiku is the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Dogara and some northern Christian leaders had endorsed Atiku, describing him as “the best option”.
Dogara who had left the PDP for the APC, became disgruntled after he was ignored for the vice-presidential slot of the APC.
He realigned with some members of his original party, the PDP, and they adopted Atiku as their candidate.
Reacting Keyamo said: “My very good and amiable friend and classmate Yakubu Dogara should have spared us all the drama. From PDP and back to PDP. Nothing has changed; no alteration of political permutations. They were not with us in 2019 when we won. Wishing them all the best, except victory in 2023!
“A group of PDP members, supporters and sympathisers sat down and purportedly adopted PDP as ‘their best option’. That is, PDP adopting PDP, yet trying to pass it off as if there is some major shift in political alignment. All drama, no real content; all motion, no real movement.”
