In news reports, Vice President Kashim Shettima has said the Federal Government was determined to secure the lives and property of the residents of Katsina State following attacks in recent days. On a courtesy visit to former president Muhammadu Buhari in his hometown of Daura, Katsina leading a delegation of government officials—the vice president while speaking to journalists at Buhari’s residence said, “We felt duty-bound to come and identify with him, and also to commiserate with the governor and people of Katsina over the sad incident which led to the loss of lives in the past couple of days and reassure them of the Federal Government’s determination and to convey the best wishes of President Bola Tinubu to his excellency president Muhammadu Buhari and to further reassure them that the government will leave no stone unturned will expend whatever resources that are needed to safeguard the lives and properties of citizens.” The delegation of government officials also prayed for sustained good health for the former leader, who conveyed his appreciation for the visit.
