The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says some electricity consumers will experience a power outage for seven hours on Wednesday, July 20.
In a statement on Tuesday, the agency said the outage would affect Lekki Phase 1, Oniru, Elegushi, Waterfront, Igbo Efon, and Twenty-first Century Estate.
TCN explained that the power outage is due to preventive maintenance on its Ajah/Lekki 330kV transmission line.
“The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TN) hereby inform the general public that there will be a power outage on its Ajah/Lekki 330kV transmission line on Wednesday, 20 July 2022, between the hours of 10:00 AM – 05:00 PM,” the notice reads.
“This is to enable the annual preventive maintenance on the line bay at Lekki Transmission Substation.
“During the maintenance period, about 50MW will be interrupted, affecting power supply to Lekki phase 1, Oniru, Elegushi, Waterfront, Igbo Efon, and Twentyfirst Century Estate.
“TCN regrets all inconveniences this might cause electricity consumers in the affected areas.”
In April, the federal executive council (FEC) approved N1.4 billion for TCN to boost the power supply in the country.
